Foodies are in for an early Christmas treat as Stockton Farmers’ Market joins the town’s festive fun for the first time on November 29.
Shoppers can expect to enjoy a tasty mix of locally produced food, drink and Christmas gifts, with one lucky person also set to win a hamper made up of items from virtually every stall on the day itself.
Market manager, Lorna Jackson, says: “This is the first time we’ve been part of Stockton Sparkles, and everyone is gearing up to bring an early taste of Christmas to town.
“This time of year is perfect for grouse, pheasant, duck and venison, and let’s have some gorgeous Ginger Wine and Ginger Christmas pudding to go with it.
“Locally produced Skinningrove Wine always goes down a treat round the dinner table, and we’ll also have a fantastic mix of local artworks that make perfect Christmas gifts for someone special.”
The farmers’ market is held on Stockton High Street just outside the Sun Inn between 9am-3pm and offers a mix of independent food producers from within a 50-mile radius of the town, including freshly baked artisan bread, Skinningrove Wines, hand-made cheeses, locally produced sausages, meat and game, free range eggs, traditional ginger wine, jams and chutneys, cupcakes, chilli sauces, pasta, gluten-free bakery items and home wares.
