Spanish flavours en route to Jesmond Dene House

Tempting as it may be, you don’t need to book a flight to Spain to enjoy a taste of the country.

For Jesmond Dene House’s head chef, Michael Penaluna, is on a mission to bring the best Spanish food to Tyneside.

On July 20 he is teaming up with Enrique Avencio of Spanish food distribution firm Kaltur and Granada-based winery, Nestares Rincon, to bring some Mediterranean sunshine into diners’ lives.

The A Taste of Spain event will include traditional dishes like crustini of tomato, Serrano ham and quails egg; white garlic and fresh Morcona almond chilled soup with Kaltur extra virgin olive oil; anchovies from Cantabrico served with artichoke hearts from Granada; salt cod with onion and paella from Valencia.

Each tasting course will be served with a different Spanish wine.

The dinner and wines costs £55 per person.
