The Pudding Parlour has been shortlisted in the Best Dessert Outlet category in the inaugural Northern Independent Retail Awards 2015.
Brother and sister team Kristy Giblin and Greg Small who run the venture, will find out on July 19 if they have won at a ceremony in Manchester celebrating the best retail outlets north of Liverpool.
The awards, which aim to applaud and commend Northern England’s independent retailers who offer a plethora of unique products and help reinvigorate their communities, are customer led with finalists selected from public nominations.
The list of accolades at this first ever event comprises a variety of categories from Café of the Year, to the best convenience store, hair and beauty retailer, service provider and more.
A win would be another feather in The Pudding Parlour’s cap since launching just over 18 months ago.
These include Best New Business in the Glass Slipper Awards, which mark the achievements of women; Best Retail Business 2014 in the North East Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards; and being picked as one of former Dragons’ Den star Theo Paphitis’ weekly Small Business Sunday winners on Twitter.
Of The Pudding Parlour’s latest success, Kristy says: “We are delighted to be shortlisted for such a prestigious award. Not only does it highlight the region’s best retail outlets, but also those as far down as Liverpool and Manchester, so to be in the top six finalists of all the dessert companies in the whole Northern area is a real privilege.
“We have come a long way in our year and a half of trading and we are very proud of what we have achieved. With a few new ventures being announced in the next few months it’s all go at the moment!”
As well as recognising the commercial success and achievements of the independent retail businesses in Northern England, the awards will be raising money for the Make a Wish Foundation.
The charity is dedicated to granting wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses across the UK in order to help them make their dreams come true.
