Winter is on its way, and on November 14 Sunderland’s Stadium of Light will be marking the changing seasons with a gourmet evening.
The event will feature a five-course feast showcasing the best winter produce and wines.
The meal prepared by SAFC’s catering and hospitality arm, 1879 Events Management, will begin with a winter salad of beetroot, pickled mushrooms, goat’s curd and walnuts, followed by a shellfish terrine, served with herb crème fraiche.
For the main course guests will enjoy roast tenderloin with braised oxtail, red wine shallots, potato confit, celeriac and winter mushrooms.
This will be followed by a dessert of Palet D’or with griottine cherries and a selection of local cheeses.
Each dish will be accompanied by a different wine, specifically chosen to complement the flavours and fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Tickets for the Winter Wonderland Gourmet Evening are priced at £54.50 per person, including canapés on arrival. A 10% discount is also available for SAFC season card holders.
