Durham Gin is soon to be joined by a new alcoholic stable mate.

Durham Distillery, which makes the Great Taste Award two gold star winning gin, is set to launch its own vodka on to the market in the next few weeks.

The company was set-up earlier this year by former NHS executive Jon Chadwick and is the first legal distillery in Durham since the days of Henry VIII.

The gin made at the distillery’s base in Langley Park, is currently available to buy in the likes of Fenwick, Majestic and scores of independent outlets across the region, including Rothbury Wines, The Wine Chambers in Tynemouth and Bin 21 in Hexham and Morpeth.

The gin is handmade by Jessica Tomlinson, who at just 26 is believed to be the youngest distiller in the country.

Now Durham Vodka is being added to the company’s growing repertoire, which over the summer has included a seasonal Durham Gin-based fruit liqueur.
