Dessert on the menu for starters, mains and puds at Teesdale hotel

A new club at the Morritt Hotel in Teesdale is serving up desserts for starters, mains and puds

It’s the perfect choice for anyone with a sweet tooth.

For the starter, main course and afters at a new club at a Teesdale hotel restaurant are all desserts.

The Dessert Club at the Morritt Hotel at Greta Bridge runs during the afternoon in Gilroy’s Dining Room on the last Wednesday of every month and is hitting the sweet spot with diners.

For £15 participants can choose a taster dessert from the a la carte menu as a starter, a specially made savoury dessert as a main course, and another a la carte dessert for afters. It comes along with a glass of dessert wine or tea or coffee, and the choices are different each month.

Hotel owner, Barbara Johnson, says: “Quite a few of our restaurant guests say they love our home-made desserts and that they could make a meal of them, so we thought we would offer them the chance.

“It’s proving very popular and as we’re serving it in the afternoon it’s a great alternative to our afternoon tea.”
