A new cakery and tea rooms has opened in Sunderland.
The quirkily named Let There Be Crumbs is based in what was the Thai China restaurant in the Best Western Roker Hotel on the seafront.
A host of indulgent treats are on offer from cakes, patisseries and confectionery to breakfast dishes and light meals, all served with a stunning sea view.
Hotel owner Mark Hird says: “Let There Be Crumbs is about great quality day and teatime eating. Though it’s a cakery it’s not all about the sweet stuff – there are guilty pleasures for all times of the day with breakfasts served from 7am, cake and a cuppa available anytime, afternoon teas and light meals.”
Explaining his decision to set up the venture, Mark adds: “Tearooms have grown immensely in popularity in recent years and we hope that including one inside the new Best Western Roker Hotel will not only serve to satisfy modern tastes, but increase our appeal for seaside visitors, as well as hotel guests.”
The tearoom is open between 7am-6pm Monday-Friday and from 7.30am on weekends.
