Between November 28 and December 20 the tea room will be offering Christmas lunch at £25 per person.

It includes spiced apple punch on arrival, with a selection of starters from soup of the day to marinated Craster kippers, coarse country terrine and pineapple and pomegranate salad.

Mains are roast turkey with all the traditional trimmings; parsnip, cranberry and chestnut loaf with a red wine jus; rib of beef with porcini and tarragon and poached salmon.

Christmas plum pudding; Alnwick Rum and raisin cheese cake; honey spiced poached pear and apple and almond treacle tart, are the dessert choices.

There is freshly brewed coffee or tea to finish. Booking is essential by calling 01669 622 031 or 01669 622 038.
