Pineapples and palm trees will be replacing the traditional festive fare this Christmas at one of the region’s newest eateries.
The Beach House bistro overlooking Roker beach in Sunderland has released details of its Yuletide food offering – and in keeping with its seaside location has decided to give the festivities a tropical Hawaiian twist with special, themed party nights running from 7pm three times a week between November 27 and December 20.
The venue, operated by SAFC subsidiary 1879 Events Management, is replacing turkey with all the trimmings with a selection of Hawaiian treats including starters of Saimin Soup or South Pacific seafood cocktail served in a coconut shell.
Guests can enjoy sharing platters of pulled pork, chicken teriyaki, beef short ribs, seafood kebab, skewered chicken and ham and pineapple, all served with a selection of salads and sweet potato wedges.
This will be followed with a choice of either tropical fruit pancakes or roasted pineapple for dessert.
The Beach House is also promising a mix of music, colourful decorations and a complimentary cocktail to enhance the carnival mood.
Tickets are priced at £30 per person by calling 0871 911 1555 or emailing Thebeachhouse@1879Events.com.
