Asian Fusion restaurant Sohe is celebrating its first birthday in cocktail shaking style

The Jesmond eatery is also launching a new food menu alongside the cocktail concoctions to mark its first year in business

Asian Fusion restaurant Sohe is celebrating its first birthday this week with the launch of new cocktail and food menus.

New additions to the a la carte include Japanese beef tataki, crispy beef and beef patty topped with wasabi to start and poussin satay with coconut and duck egg salad and a peanut caramel sauce to follow.

Koh Island iced tea are among the new summery cocktails at the eatery on Osborne Road in Jesmond, next to the recently renovated Cairn Hotel.

Meanwhile, lunch diners can choose from a range of dim sum such as crispy salt and pepper squid chips or wild mushroom and kimchi moneybags and Bahn Mi dishes, which include Japanese breaded pork in a flatbread roll and crispy Thai patties in a brioche bun.

An added attraction is that guests can sit and watch the chefs at work in the kitchen, which is located at the heart of the restaurant.

Sohe’s general manager Sarah Harker says: “Our first year has been amazing. Over the last 12 months we have built a loyal following of patrons who have a true appreciation of fine cuisine, cool culture and quality cocktails.

“We’re all about quality. We want to be different and remarkable in everything we do.”
