Champion ballroom dancers Kristina Rihanoff and Robin Windsor are best known for their TV routines with celebrity partners.
But from June 2-6 they will be helping to bring some old fashioned Hollywood glamour to a show conjuring up its golden age and paying homage to the music of George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter and others.
The pair will appear alongside a troupe of award-winning singers and dancers.
Kristina, who is originally from Siberia, is a world finalist professional ballroom dancer, instructor, choreographer and author.
She has been a member of the ‘Strictly’ team for the past six years and tonight will be partnering Simon Webbe, from pop band Blue, in the live version of the show at the Metro Radio Arena.
In the Theatre Royal musical she will be in more accomplished hands. Robin Windsor, who joined the BBC’s Saturday night favourite after a glittering career which included representing Britain in the World Dance Champiuonships. He has been Kristina’s professional ballroom partner for five years.
Kristina said: “We love performing in front of a live audience as every show is very different.
“It’s great to be a part of such a successful show and we are looking forward to performing on stage with the rest of the cast.
“The audience can expect a Fred and Ginger type of dancing. We love ballroom and we want to bring a bit of Hollywood glamour into the show.”
