Shaun Williamson - aka Barry from Eastenders - returns to Newcastle Theatre Royal

Former soap actor Shaun Williamson is taking to the North East stage again in a production of One Man, Two Guvnors

He’s best known as an East End local but now Shaun Williamson - aka Barry from Eastenders - is here in the North East.

The National Theatre’s award-winning comedy One Man, Two Guvnors has returned to Newcastle Theatre Royal this summer with cast including former soap actor Shaun alongside Gavin Spokes, Jasmyn Banks and Emma Barton.

Nicholas Hytner’s five star production tells the story of Francis Henshall who, fired from his skiffle band, becomes minder to Roscoe Crabbe.

But Roscoe is really Rachel, posing as her own dead brother – who’s been killed by her boyfriend Stanley Stubbers.

Francis spots the chance of an extra meal ticket and takes a job with one Stanley Stubbers – but to prevent discovery, he must keep his two guvnors apart.

Gavin takes the central role of Francis Henshall while Shaun plays Charlie Clench.

One Man, Two Guvnors opened at the National Theatre in May 2011 and has since been seen by a million people worldwide.

It appears at Newcastle Theatre Royal until Saturday, August 2. Tickets are available from £12 from the Theatre Royal Box Office on 08448 11 21 21 or select your own seat and book online at www.theatreroyal.co.uk
