Culture Awards 2014: All you need to know

The Journal Culture Awards 2014 take place at Sunderland Minster on June 30, 2015. Here's a rundown of all the finalists hoping to take the trophies home

The list of finalists for The Journal Culture Awards 2014 has once again reminded us of what an incredible crowd of creative talent we’re lucky enough to have on our doorstep in the North East.

For the first time, and thanks to Grants for the Arts funding from Arts Council England, we have created a digital exhibition featuring all 39 finalists.

Organised by category, the exhibition has been designed to offer an introduction to each individual, activity or event and a flavour of why they have been judged worthy of a place on the Culture Awards shortlist for 2014.

The winners will be revealed on Tuesday, June 30 at a ceremony at Sunderland Minster, which will feature performances from finalists David Almond, Nadine Shah and Hyde and Beast as well as folk singer Richard Dawson.

The Journal Culture Awards 2014 have been supported by associate sponsors See It Do It Sunderland, Sunderland Bid and the North East Cultural Partnership.

We will be live blogging throughout the event, so don’t forget to stay tuned from 7.30pm on Tuesday to find out who will be taking home Corinne Lewis-Ward’s bespoke trophies, sponsored by Historic England
