The Journal Culture Awards will be taking place at Sunderland Minster on the evening of June 30. Now in their ninth year, the awards will once again be rewarding the cream of the region’s cultural crop across 15 categories.
As well as welcoming award-winning writer David Almond, the stage will also play host to a soon-to-be-announced roster of top North East artists on the bill.
This year, we are thrilled to have support from Arts Council England in the form of a Grant for the Arts, as well as associate sponsors See It Do It Sunderland, and venue sponsors Sunderland BID, which is aiming to secure UK City of Culture status for Sunderland in 2021.
We are also grateful to Historic England (formerly English Heritage) who are sponsoring the bespoke trophies, which will be made by a North East artist to be announced later this week.
