IN the slightly modified words of Sir David Frost: Hello, good morning and welcome to a Boxing Day Culture quiz bonanza, which will make you wish you’d gone easy on the eggnog yesterday.

Oh yes, you’re going to need your wits, wisdom and internet-searching skills about you, if you’d like to be in with a shout of winning one of three treat-filled goodie bags which will help get 2013 off to a cultural bang.

This year, I think you may agree that we (and when I say ‘we’, I mean our lovely friends at some of the region’s best cultural venues and attractions) have outdone ourselves when it comes to prizes on the metaphorical table.

And all you have to do is answer 36 little questions relating to the jam-packed year of top drawer cultural doings we’ve been lucky enough to have on our doorstep this year.

As is the annual form, we have raided our Culture cupboard to bring you a too-much-to-mention compendium of books, CDs and DVDs including releases from Val McDermid, former Duran Duran member Andy Taylor and Michael Chaplin and three each of the North East-soaked DVDs: Big River, Big Songs, Sunday for Sammy 2012 and Passin' the Folks Alang the Road! George Ridley and the Blaydon Races.

But the real credit for the bulging nature of the goodie bags must go to our aforementioned muckers across the North East’s arts and entertainment scene who have once again dug deep and given us a melting pot of prizes to be proud of.

As well as a compilation of reading, listening and watching materials which come courtesy of the end of year Culture desk clear-out, the three lucky winners, drawn from those who answer the most questions correctly, can expect to be given a selection of treats from the following list:

Three pairs of tickets for a National Trust property of your choice

One pair of tickets for the Gala Concert of the returning Northern Chords Festival in May 2013, which annually brings world class classical musicians to Tyneside.

One pair of tickets for the following shows at the Mill Volvo Tyne Theatre, Newcastle: Sarah Millican: Home Bird on November 22, 2013; La Boheme presented by Grand Opera of Belarus on March 15, 2013; and Singin’ Alang the Scotswood Road: Geordie Variety Show on March 30, 2013.

Three pairs of tickets for Toy Stories, on February 16. Presented at Live Theatre by the venue’s Youth Theatre actors who are taking a magical journey into the world of toys. Ten groups will perform 10 short plays over two nights.

Three family tickets for the ever-popular time-travelling Beamish Museum in County Durham.

Three rather special Geoff (Byker Grove) Keegan Prints from the Baltic Shop.

Three family passes for the world famous Maker Faire UK, 2013 at the Centre for Life in Newcastle on April 27 and 28, 2013. Prepare for a fascinating weekend of robots, garden shed inventions, the occasional fireball and lots more.

Three family tickets (including free parking) for Dressing the Stars - the next big exhibition at Woodhorn Museum and Northumberland Archives near Ashington, which celebrates British costume design - featuring some Bafta and Oscar-award-winning threads - and runs from February 16 to June 9, 2013.

Sunderland Empire tickets [TBC]

One pair of tickets for WOW - A Celebration of the Music & Artistry of Kate Bush on February 27 and one pair of tickets for Northern Spirits: Northern Sinfonia, Tim Garland and Lighthouse (part of the Gateshead International Jazz Festival) on April 6.
