The Late Shows and a blast of warmer weather proved a winning combination this weekend, luring thousands out for a big night on the town.

The hugely popular annual event, which sees 50 or so cultural venues across Newcastle and Gateshead open to visitors after-hours, began on Friday evening with the party spirit focused around the Ouseburn then came the main event on Saturday.

Opening at 6pm in Gateshead and 7pm in the city centre, a mix of museums, art galleries and more unusual locations laid on a packed programme of activities, several including food and drink, until 11pm.

Throughout the weekend, we asked cultural revellers to send us photos from their Late Shows travels, and as per usual, they all came up trumps as you can see in the picture galleries we have compiled.
