The Journal Culture Awards: Nominations are being reopened for one week only

If you were kicking yourself that you didn't get around to nominating your favourite stuff from 2014, fear not, you have an extra week

Following a raft of public demand - and to celebrate the announcement of date and venue for The Journal Culture Awards 2014 as June 30, 2015, at Sunderland Minster - we have decided to reopen the nominations across all 15 categories for one week only.

From Monday, May 11 until Sunday, May 17, anyone and everyone is encouraged to nominate in the following categories:

  • Visual Artist of the Year
  • Performing Artist of the Year
  • Writer of the Year
  • Newcomer of the Year
  • Performance of the Year, supported by Barbour
  • North East Museum of the Year
  • Best Arts and Business Partnership
  • Best Event Northumberland, supported by Northumbria University
  • Best Event Tyneside, supported by Newcastle University
  • Best Event Sunderland, supported by Sunderland University
  • Best Event Durham, supported by Durham University
  • Best Event Teesside, supported by Teesside University
  • Best Overall Event
  • Arts Council Award
  • Special Contribution to North East Culture
