Newcastle-based artist Ginny Reed created a new artwork specially for The Late Shows, which saw nearly 60 cultural venues open their doors after hours on Friday and Saturday nights on Tyneside.

From dusk on Saturday (May 17), Ginny’s animated artwork appeared at the Castle Keep in Newcastle and Gateshead Old Town Hall.

The artist, who is based Ginny has worked with NOVAK to produce an animated sign that encouraged the audience to consider aspects of their journey around The Late Shows.

The idea was that the words ‘over here/over there’ alternated and resonated in a variety of ways, reflecting ideas about location and identity.
