Specialist Computer Systems (SCS) are settling in to their new South Tyneside base on Boldon Business Park after choosing a unit to accompany offices in Manchester, Wolverhampton and Glasgow.
SCS, which employs 50 staff, has been providing specialist project management and support to education and public sector ICT for over 10 years and earlier this year the firm was awarded the contract to provide ICT support to a number of secondary schools and academies in the South Tyneside and Gateshead region.
Richard Holland, service director for SCS, said: “SCS has plans to grow the service provision and team in the North East, using our office in Boldon as a regional base. We operate in various parts of the UK and try wherever possible to recruit locally and use local suppliers and partners.”
Councillor Michael Clare, lead member for regeneration and economy at South Tyneside Council said: “This is a great asset for the region as it builds up the Borough’s impressive skills portfolio.”
