A cleaning Platinum Cleaning Products, run by husband and wife team, Simon and Michelle Dixon, was incorporated some years ago, but was dormant until 2013 when the business took up a 20,000 sq ft office and factory unit in Newton Aycliffe.

Since then, it has exceeded its initial targets by 34% and now has plans to grow further.

Simon Dixon said: “With projected stainable growth, we plan to open three new UK hubs and significantly expand our workforce over the next 18 months, which will continue to guarantee short lead times and quality of service to our growing customer base”.

Platinum Cleaning Products, originally set up to supply sister company Platinum Environmental & Hygiene (UK) Ltd, now provides products to a wide range of businesses throughout the UK, working with brands such Karcher, Prochem, Numatic as well as producing a range of its own branded products.

Its core team is made up of 15 staff, with 140 cleaning staff on call. A cloud-based ordering system means the firm can pick, pack and despatch products within hours of orders being placed.

Michelle Dixon said: “Our business operates as an inverted pyramid, with our staff at the very top.

“They are the real champions, completing projects, selling products and exceeding our customers’ expectations.”
