The owners of the first Thai restaurant in South Shields are opening a second venue.
Orangegrass Thai & Oriental Cuisine was launched seven years ago by joint managing directors Titu Akthar and Humayn Choudhury who have identified a site in the popular fishing village of Seahouses for their latest venture.
Akthar said: “We have invested more than £200,000 in our new restaurant and we’re really excited to open the venue. We’ve been working really hard on a full-scale refurbishment plan.”
The new restaurant will be opening in two phases. The ground floor will house 50 seats, with the second phase boasting an additional 40 covers. With an expected weekly turnover of more than £6,000, Orangegrass Seahouses are recruiting for 10 new positions in the initial stages. The restaurant has vacancies for front of house staff, experienced chefs and kitchen assistants.
