It was Pink Friday at Carlisle’s Harrison & Hetherington Auction Mart, last week when £350 was raised for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
Throughout October - Breast Cancer Awareness Month - Breakthrough Breast Cancer is asking for support in the form of Pink Bake Offs.
More than 30 members of the H&H Group answered the call and baked up a storm for their very own Pink Bake Off. The bake off sale included buns, biscuits, brownies and the ever-popular cupcakes, all in keeping with the pink theme.
The H&H crew are no strangers to baking as earlier this year the company held its very own extremely successful company bake off.
Every year, 50,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer and 12,000 die.
Breakthrough funds almost 25% of the UK’s breast cancer research. It can only continue its life-saving work with help.
Deborah Popham, PA to the chief executive at H&H, said: “Most people know someone who has been affected by breast cancer so the H&H Group were delighted to support the charity.
“The company has many excellent cooks so I know that there were many delicious treats to sample.”
