Harrison & Hetherington had forward over 800 head of cattle consisting of 485 Store cattle and stirks, 316 calves and 2 dairy cattle. A good show for quality in all sections met a sharper trade on the week, and with 100 buyers operating many more could have been sold to advantage.

Store Cattle – A very good turnout of quality store cattle at the weekly sale whereby a catalogued entry of 341 were present. All classes sold dearer on the week to a top of £1300 for a Limousin cross steer from Messrs Dickinson of North Netherscales Farm, Penrith. Heifers topped at £1280, again for a Limousin cross from the same home. Finally Black and Whites were very easily sold and peaked at £995 for a British Friesian steer from Messrs Grainger of Kiln Close, Wigton and heifers peaked at £940 from the same home.
