Name: Sarah Raad
Company: Marketeer, Tent.uk.com
With almost 20 years experience in marketing Sarah Raad knows a thing or two about raising a business’ profile and it is her ability to translate this in social media which has won her several nominations in the The Journal’s search for the North East’s Most Influential in Social Media.
Sarah is the business development manager and marketeer at Tent, a Northumberland-based marketing and design agency.
She has been nominated in #NEtwitterati for her Twitter feed @tentspitch which she said she uses as a networking tool because work and family commitments means she finds it difficult to attend traditional networking events.
She uses Twitter to start up conversations and to help people make connections and as a result she said that most of Tent’s new business is now won through Twitter contacts.
She said: “I do think Twitter is brilliant for small businesses like ours and when used correctly and creatively it can really raise your profile and make a huge difference to business as well as just being a great way to meet interesting, useful and fun people.
“Most of our new business now comes through relationships started and built on Twitter and is second only to client referrals in how we generate new business.”
Sarah has worked at Tent since 2007 and prior to that worked at Tyne & Wear Museums, Oxfam and Dance City.
