Marleycote make running at Dairy Expo in Carlisle

Marleycote Princess Jill is unbeaten in her breed so far, having been breed and reserve interbreed at this year’s Ulster Winter Fair

At the Dairy Expo in Carlisle this month, in the Dairy Shorthorn section, the Premier Breeder Award was won for the second year, and Premier Exhibitor Award for the third consecutive year by Richard Baynes, aided by Shaun Dixon.

They also took Reserve Champion Dairy Shorthorn with Marleycote Songstress 17 VG86. The Champion Shorthorn was a cow bred by Richard then sold to the Mclean family from Northern Ireland – Marleycote Princess Jill 31 VG89. Marleycote Princess Jill is unbeaten in her breed so far, having been breed and reserve interbreed at this year’s Ulster Winter Fair.

The winning team also took second in the maiden heifer class, third and fourth in the junior cow in milk class and second in the senior cow in milk class.
