And what a time to pat the North East’s finest manufacturers on the back, as data suggests the sector is on course for its strongest growth since mid-2010.
Manufacturing saw a solid expansion in activity in August, according to the Purchasing Managers Index (PMI).
The number of new orders rose, especially from abroad, and output increased by 0.4% in quarter two.
All the signs suggest that activity will further accelerate in quarter three.
