The next Borderway UK Dairy Expo is to take place at Carlisle on Saturday, March 8. 2014, Harrison and Hetherington have announced.
Attracting thousands of visitors from across the globe, this will be the third year for the dairy showcase, a one day business event guaranteed to play host to some of the finest dairy genetics in the UK and the latest in dairy innovation.
In 2013, Dairy Expo attracted over 300 livestock entries with The Grand Champion of Champions being Holstein cow Lavenham Adeen, owned in partnership by Mark Nutsford, Anthony Grimshaw and Stephen Bell.
Mr Nutsford, who will be entering livestock in 2014, said: “Showing dairy cows is a major investment, and for us entering livestock at Dairy Expo is certainly a worthwhile investment.
“This is now a major event for the dairy industry and what I specifically like about it is the very warm welcome that we receive from Harrison and Hetherington and the fact that they go out of their way to encourage family participation.”
Sure to be a key date on dairy farmers’ calendars, Borderway UK Dairy Expo provides an opportunity for breeders and farmers from across the UK to come together to compete with their animals and discuss the future of the dairy industry as a whole.
On announcing the date for this year’s event, operations director of Harrison & Hetherington and event organiser David Pritchard said: “Dairy farming plays such a huge role in the rural economy, and in arranging Dairy Expo our aim is to provide both a business event and a showcase for livestock, trade exhibitors and the industry as a whole.
“The quality and quantity of stock seen at last year’s event was just outstanding and I know that we will see even more highlights from the dairy sector.
“Borderway UK Diary Expo represents all aspects of the dairy industry and is supported by several high profile businesses as mainline sponsors, including CIS, Holstein UK, Norbrook Pharmaceuticals and Clydesdale Bank.”
