Two regional dealmakers are marking their tenth anniversaries with regional fund management firm NEL Fund Managers.
Senior investment executive Simon Johnson and senior portfolio executive Jonathan Luke joined NEL within a few weeks of each other, and have both been involved with hundreds of the investments that the firm has made in businesses.
Johnson is part of the team working with businesses looking for an investment from the £23m Finance For Business North East Growth Fund that NEL manages while Luke provides a direct link to the firms in which investments are made, reviewing their progress and acting as a sounding board for their management teams.
Johnson said: “Economic conditions have obviously varied wildly over the last ten years, from the confidence of the mid-part of the last decade to the depths of the recession, but what’s not changed is the consistent ambition of North East businesses to make the best commercial use of their skills, ideas and knowledge.”
Luke added: “Getting to know businesses across the region, and seeing them develop and grow is a really satisfying part of our work.
