A consturction apprentice from Swalwell, Gateshead, has been awarded England’s Outstanding Personal Achievement Award at the CITB Managing Agency Apprentice Awards

Daniel Halliday, who is employed by Danny Halliday and Son Painting & Decorating, was named overall winner at a ceremony at the IndigO2 Arena in London.

CITB is the largest provider of construction apprenticeships in the UK, giving thousands of young people every year the opportunity to enter the construction industry, while allowing employers to grow their businesses.

The awards were launched to celebrate the achievements of those undergoing its apprenticeships.

Daniel, who was presented with his award by TV presenter Ben Fogle, said: “My apprenticeship has given me so many different skills, and my confidence has improved immensely.”
