STRONG client partnerships have helped Newcastle- based Silverstone Building Consultancy to secure projects outside the region.
Silverstone’s latest instruction comes as a result of a long-standing relationship with a North East-based client, Gestamp Tallent Ltd, which instructed Silverstone to monitor work on a newly acquired factory in Southampton.
Gestamp Tallent, based in Newton Aycliffe, designs and manufactures chassis components for the automotive industry, supplying customers such as Volvo, Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover, Nissan, Honda and BMW. They also have a presence in Southampton, where they are expanding due to new contracts with Vauxhall and Renault.
Silverstone director Richard Farrey said: “We have been trusted advisors to Tallent on a variety of property-related projects in recent years, most significantly project managing the construction of their new £8m factory in Newton Aycliffe.
“Building solid client relationships with a smaller number of clients for the long term is part of our philosophy.”
David Land, UK engineering director at Gestamp Tallent, added: “Silverstone have proven to be a valued partner on a number of projects, providing specific help and guidance in enabling building works to be completed to budget and on time. Rather than appointing a firm in the Southampton area we would prefer to continue our successful relationship with Silverstone, who we know and trust.”
Silverstone has recently completed building surveys on a portfolio of properties on behalf of another long-term client, Dickinson Dees. They have also received instructions on several design and refurbishment projects.
