A homewares retailer is about to open its doors at Cramlington's Manor Walks Retail Park.
Dunelm will open its new 30,200 sq ft store on Thursday, December 12, taking the number of Dunelm stores in the UK to 140. The new store is expected to create 80 new jobs.
The new unit is over two floors with ground floor space of 18,600 sq ft and first floor space of 11,600 sq ft.
Bill and Jean Adderley founded Dunelm in 1979, selling ready-made curtains on a market stall in Leicester.
Fast forward some 34 years and the business has rapidly developed to be the leader in the homewares market; a successful nationwide chain of stores with more planned throughout the year.
The new store adds to Manor Walks multi-million redevelopment which has helped create hundreds of new retail jobs.
London-based developer Hammerson has built and opened a nine-screen, 1,800-seat Vue cinema on the south mall car park and revamped six shop units.
New restaurants Prezzo and Franky & Bennys also opened their doors earlier this year.
More than 200 workers were employed in the building of the development.
