AN internationally renowned expert on wind energy has relocated to the North East from Spain to oversee a multi-million research facility off the Northumberland coast.
The National Renewable Energy Centre (Narec) has appointed Ignacio Marti as chief technology officer to support the rapid expansion of its £110m wind-testing centre in Blyth.
Marti joins Narec from CENER in Spain, where he spent almost 20 years and worked up to the position of technical director for research and development.
A physics graduate, he was responsible for the planning and delivery of all research and technical activities.
Marti said it was “a fantastic time to join Narec”. He has moved to the North East with his family and took up his full time position earlier this month.
