The deadline has now passed for nominations for the North East Business Executive of the Year Awards.
And soon the judging will get under way. But have you booked your seat for the glittering awards event to be held on November 14?
There’s just over two months to go until we will be announcing the winners and the much-coveted top title of North East Business Executive of the Year at the Newcastle Mariott Hotel at Gosforth Park.
The top executive will be chosen from winners in three sub-regions – Teesside, Tyneside and Norhumberland and Durham and Wearside.
Last year Andrew Hodgson, chief executive of Tyneside-based SMD, took the top North East title after first taking the Tyneside and Northumberland crown.
Durham and Wearside’s winner was Wayne Edy, founder of Inov-8, based in County Durham.
And Steve Pearson of Billingham-based Phusion, took the Teesside title. But who will take the honours in this, the 30th year of the awards?
The event is run by The Journal in association with the Evening Gazette in Middlesbrough.
Heading the judging panel once again this year is John Mowbray, former director of corporate affairs at Northumbrian Water.
He, along with a team of key regional business people, will have the tricky task of deciding who has made it on to this year’s shortlist – which we will unveil in October. Then all will be revealed when we announce all of the winners at the awards dinner in November. Table bookings are now being taken for the event.
