Bristol Street Motors Vauxhall in Sunderland has expanded creating six new jobs, following a £250,000 transformation.

The Alexandra Avenue dealership has undergone a major refurbishment, with investment in a new showroom as well as revamped customer and colleague areas.

The dealership is also welcoming six new colleagues, including a sales executive, a new technician and four new colleagues in the parts department.

The news comes as long-standing colleague John Watchman celebrates 36 years at the dealership. A former member of popular band Love Affair, whose hits include Everlasting Love and Rainbow Valley, John joined the dealership in 1978.

Customers Derek Rodgers, Joe Watson and Malcolm Elves have between them bought 74 cars and have been dealing with John for 101 years combined.

Derek Rodgers said: “It’s always good to see a company investing.”
