Ligitation specialist TT Law has expanded into new premises and been shortlisted for a major national award.
The dispute resolution specialists are running for Boutique Firm of the Year - National title at the Lawyer Awards 2015.
TT, which is just over two years old, has also moved from its former Gosforth home into larger premises at Cobalt Business Park.
The firm says the move will make room for new jobs to meet demand for its services.
Ex-Muckle lawyer Neville Takiar launched TT Law in 2013 and has since built a national client base which includes hotel and leisure groups, care homes, digital agencies and healthcare firms.
In 2014 the firm recruited North East commercial litigator Kevin Turnbull — a former colleague of Mr Takiar at Muckle — as a partner.
Mr Turnbull acted on Bloody Sunday and Harold Shipman inquiries and is cited in Chambers Guides as being ‘widely regarded as exceptional’.
Mr Takiar said: “We’ve started working with a number of new clients over the last six months, principally recommendations from existing clients and referrals from other law firms. Our new offices allow us to accommodate that growth.
“We’re also extremely proud to be recognised as one of the leading specialist litigation law firms in the country. These are very exciting times for our firm and it all stems from one thing: our genuine commitment in all that we do, to achieving excellent outcomes for our clients. It sounds like a cliché, but that really is what we focus on.”
TT Law specialises in commercial contract disputes, professional negligence claims and shareholder disputes. Other specialist services include insolvency related litigation, partnership disputes and arbitrations.
The firm is also a finalist in two categories at this year’s Northern Law Awards, having been shortlisted for Team of the Year – Litigation and Dispute Resolution.
Mr Takiar is also nominated as Rising Star; the award for the year’s highest achieving lawyer under the age of 35.
