The best bloggers in the business came together for a glitzy awards ceremony to crown the first winners of the North East Blogger Awards.
Categories included food, sports, beauty, lifestyle, parenting, business, style, travel, student and best newcomer.
Launched by Newcastle PR agency, O PR, the event managed to pull in well-known national and international brands as sponsors including Primula, Dr Martens, Tommee Tippee and Newcastle International Airport.
Held at boutique bowling alley Lane7 the night culminated in a special judges’ award for the North East Blogger of the Year, which was awarded to the North East Family Fun blog.
O PR managing director Kari Owers said: “We were astounded at the amount of blog nominations which ran into the hundreds and hundreds, and picking winners was very difficult as the breadth and quality of blogging in the North East is obviously really strong.
Dan Black from Metro Radio compered the event with music provided by blogger and DJ Lauren Archer, who was named best food blogger on the night for her Scran on the Tyne blog.
Live music and flapper girls from new bar venue The Glass House (opening in December) opened the evening of Lane7 bowling, food and the region’s first taste of the new Lakes Gin from the Lakes Distillery, then the awards ceremony was followed by an after-party at Tiger Hornsby, recently opened on the Quayside.
