TONI Madine has joined Heighley Gate garden centre as HR manager.
She joins the £9m-turnover family business during a period of continuing growth and expansion.
Toni, 44, of Longhorsley, Morpeth, will play a critical role in Heighley Gate’s ongoing investment in staff development and training.
She has spent the last 20 years in human resources, occupying the national role as HR project manager with waste management company SITA UK for the past 15 years.
Before this, Toni was the personnel coordinator for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and worked in both Kenya and Sudan.
She said: “When I was offered the role of HR manager at Heighley Gate, I was delighted to accept because it represented an exciting change within an expanding business.
“Heighley Gate is a tremendous brand across the county and I am looking forward to building upon the core values that have made the centre into the success it is today.”
There has been a multi-million pound investment in the garden centre, just off the A1, north of Morpeth. She will focus on staff training and development and ensuring that customers enjoy ever-increasing levels of service.
Toni is married to Michael, distribution manager at Northumbrian Water, and they have a daughter, Aimee, aged five.
