STAFF from FHM North-East have showed they are the salt of the earth by helping to tidy up Gateshead’s Saltwell Park.
The team – involving Barry Wild, Vicky Carr and Emma O’Sullivan – joined David Young and Glen Farrage, of Gateshead College, Eveline Walker and Tom and Lily Wilkinson, from Friends of Saltwell Park, and Kelly Anderson, from Gateshead Council, to help weed, replant and tidy up a stretch of the borough’s 52-acre park.
Kelly, cultural development officer with the council, said: “Thanks to FHM’s support, we have been able to tidy up and refresh an area of the park which can now be fully appreciated by those who visit.” In addition to volunteering their time, FHM North-East is also working with Kelly to help source funding opportunities to develop a sensory/community garden within the park.
Through its partnership with the Gateshead Housing Company, FHM is working throughout the borough to bring thousands of properties up to the Government’s Decent Homes standard.
Resident liaison officer with FHM North-East, Vicky said: “Working within Gateshead, we are keen to put something back into the community that can be enjoyed by the people living within the areas in which we work.”
Operating from the Tyne to the Tees, FHM delivers retirement, regeneration and refurbishment housing solutions.
