A new four-year partnership has been signed between Sunderland AFC and national food service company Bidvest 3663.
The catering service provider is part of the BFS Group, principal partner and shirt sponsor of the club.
Bidvest 3663 provides catering services from food and drink to catering equipment, developing products, recipes and menus. The company supplies a range of foods, beverages and wines to thousands of clients across the UK, along with planning and designing commercial kitchens.
Bidvest 3663 will work alongside Sunderland AFC’s catering team, as well as 1879 Events Management, the club’s external events division, in areas such as food product supply, menu development and the provision of catering equipment.
The Stadium of Light caters for hundreds of thousands of customers each year, both on match days and through major music concerts, conferences and large-scale events such as the University of Sunderland graduation ceremonies.
1879 Events Management operates the brasserie at Sunderland’s National Glass Centre, runs the catering operations for a range of major events, including Northern Pride and will shortly open a new seafront cafe and bistro within the new Pier Point development on Marine Walk, Sunderland.
SAFC’s commercial director Gary Hutchinson said: “Bidvest 3663 are a market leader in their field and offer a proven quality solution to all of our catering needs. As part of the Bidvest family we already have a synergy with them and as the club’s innovative approach to catering and events continues to grow, we are looking forward to further developing what is already a great partnership.”
Norman Wemyss, managing director of Bidvest 3663 North, added: “Working with a partner who operates within such an exciting, dynamic, diverse and extremely rewarding environment such as top-flight football is a challenge that Bidvest 3663 love to embrace.
“The dynamic team at Sunderland AFC always apply incredible effort, demonstrate fantastic innovation, but most of all a willingness to return on a true partnership.”
