Former Selfridges chief executive Peter Williams is at the helm and has announced a wide-ranging review of company operations. Worth a punt at 65.25p.

VENTURE Production has bought up and developed oil and gas reserves that all the other big companies considered too small to be worth exploiting.

It has also taken over fields nearing the end of their lives, but the newspaper believes there is plenty of leftovers to keep the company on the up. Buy at 704p.

It's worth holding on to shares in engineering group Delta, which were tipped by the newspaper earlier this month and gained strongly this week.

There is takeover speculation and the uncertainty over a financial penalty from the European Commission has been removed. Shares closed at 135.25p on Friday.
