Premium fashion retailer, Jules B in Jesmond, is to sponsor the Best Dressed Male competition at Newcastle Racecourse’s Northumberland Plate Festival, after spotting an upwards sales trend that suggests men are stepping up the style stakes for the racing season.

The business has seen a 200% increase in sales of men’s tailored suits, compared to 2012/13,

Held on the John Smith’s Northumberland Plate Day on Saturday, June 28, the competition will see one well-attired gent win a made-to-measure suit worth up to £750, while a runner-up will receive a made-to-measure Eton shirt from Jules B.

Julian Blades, who runs the business with wife Rhona, said: ““We are thrilled that we can put our name to and partner with such an influential regional event.”
