Structural shake-up for Age UK Northumberland

Age UK Northumberland has changed its operational structure to put it in a stronger position for a healthy future

Age UK Northumberland has changed its operational structure to put it in a stronger position for a healthy future.

It has now begun the restructure for the home care and day services teams. Traditionally the charity has had care coordinators running these teams from its Ashington HQ who have rarely had the opportunity to meet their customers face to face.

Now Age UK will deliver a more person-centred and outcome-focused package of care support based on a greater understanding of each person’s needs and outcomes.

Each local area in the county is to get its own area team leader, supporting and leading a team of professional carers to deliver care within their local communities.

Rothbury is the first area to benefit from the new approach where a pilot scheme is already under way with Suzanne Brook as area team leader.
