Stockton-based cabling contractor IES Instrumentation Electrical Services Ltd has received “significant” investment to fuel growth plans.

Funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial has been used to buy specialist training and equipment, resulting in a 30% year-on-year increase in turnover.

John Mason, operations director, IES Instrumentation Electrical Services Ltd, said: “The business is in a great position for 2015. We are able to work with many of the world’s leading companies and provide an unrivalled service and level of expertise.

“IES’ workforce has increased significantly and new offshore clients are suitably impressed with the skills and productivity of our local sourced workforce. I’m wholly confident we will continue to expand even further looking forward.”

IES was established in 2002 and specialises in electrical distribution including cabling installations, transformer and switchgear replacements and substation design.

International clients of IES include Balfour Beatty, Carillon, EDF Energy, General Electric, Laing O’Rourke, Siemens and Skanska – an indication of the firm’s standing among major global corporations.

Robbie Peacock, relationship director at Santander Corporate & Commercial, said: “IES’ has succeeded because of the very high standard of work and service the firm delivers to its clients. The firm is looking to secure further high profile contracts, and I’m sure that John and the team will succeed in meeting their aspirations. I’m delighted that Santander is able to be part of the firm’s ongoing success.”
