A COUNTY Durham business is aiming to help other small firms to market themselves by launching a new service.

Splash Print Management, based in Newton Aycliffe, has put together the Print Factory after carrying out its own market research into what small firms want to meet their basic marketing requirements. Business cards, leaflets and stationery such as letter heads and compliment slips, which were available cheaply and quickly, topped the list. The project is being headed by Lucy Groves.

Sharon Hutchinson, who set up Splash Print Management two years ago, said: “We found that while businesses liked the convenience of ordering online, they were often disappointed with the quality.

“Others found websites confusing with too many products and too many options. We have selected the most frequently ordered products for The Print Factory and due to the volume we buy, suppliers have been happy to give us substantial discounts, meaning our customers can buy the premium version of a product for less than they’d pay for the lesser quality on many other websites.

“This is another example of how we’re working to meet the changing needs of the North East business community as we go into the New Year. We speak regularly with a variety of companies to get feedback as to what they need.

“As we offer different services, this allows us to grow our own business and create new jobs and opportunities for people in the region.

“It’s all about staying one step ahead which we do try to do.”

Splash created four new jobs last year and expanded its office space to cope with its growth.
