One of the North East's leading cloud consultancies is on track to double its annual turnover after recording six months of unprecedented growth.

Cramlington-based SITS Group, which provides cloud computing solutions to private and public sector clients across the UK, including around a fifth of the North East’s top 200 companies, has turned over £2m since April – almost matching the £2.2m it took in the last financial year.

Demand for its services has led the firm to increase its projected annual turnover for the current financial year by almost 50%, from £2.6m to £3.5m.

Commercial director Phil Cambers puts the rise down to a combination of factors, including a greater awareness among businesses of the need to invest in specialist IT solutions. He said: “There is little doubt that the economy has picked up. However, what is also clear is that companies realise improving their IT capabilities can give them a considerable advantage over their competitors.”
