A flagship Newcastle enterprise centre is being supported by energy company Siemens which has begun hosting its monthly management meeting at the £6.5m Beacon.
Siemens Energy Service Fossil has chosen to host its meetings at the eco friendly the Beacon, based on Westgate Road. The development, which was funded by Centre West and Groundwork South Tyneside and Newcastle, benefited from £2.42m of European Development Fund investment. It has a 400-capacity conference room and a selection of other rooms, including hot-desk facilities.
Andrew Watts, of the Beacon, said the partnership showed how businesses could benefit from progressing their modern roles inside and outside the workplace. He said: “Our ethos has caught the imagination of many businesses and organisations, and in many cases matches what they already strive to achieve. It is a real boost to us to have a company of the reputation and repute of Siemens enjoying being part of this great environment.”
Graham Hartley, managing director of Siemens Energy Service UK and Ireland said: “Our workforce understands the aims and nature of The Beacon and the part it plays in the local community. They know basing our events there means a charity that does excellent work across the region is being strongly supported.”
