The firm has designed the OK! Celebspotter app to take advantage of features on the iPhone, such as the ability to send photos directly to OK! via the handset’s camera.

It also offers a real-time admin system which adds the latest information and images on celebrities including details of the venues mentioned.

Shout Digital technical director Phil Harvey said: “Not only have we added the real-time system, but we have changed and updated the visual look and feel of the application integrating with analytics to track how often people are using the app and the demographics, which will feed into OK!’s marketing and help target the advertising within the app.”

It is now available from the Apple app store after being redesigned.

Shout worked alongside OK! and Future Events News Service to compile information about forthcoming events and guest appearances. It hopes to continue to work on updating the app further.

Farzad Jamal, group internet controller of Express Newspapers and OK! magazine, said: ““The versatility of the new app is a great way for people to use their current location to find out which bars, pubs, clubs and restaurants celebs have previously been spotted in, so they can hang out at their ‘regular’ haunts.”
