Series of Cosy Craft Fairs launched around Tyneside

A WOMAN who transforms old textiles into new works of arts and crafts has launched her own fairs to sell them and much more besides.

A WOMAN who transforms old textiles into new works of arts and crafts has launched her own fairs to sell them and much more besides.

Helen Frazer has signed up other a variety of other craftspeople in the North East to join in the series of Cosy Craft Fairs which she has been organising at venues around Tyneside.

She started her own business Gladrags a few months ago to make and sell recycled textiles and found more firms wanted a local outlet for their crafts.

“We wanted somewhere people could come and find some interesting and unusual crafts and have a great night.

“We really want to make these fairs an event. There is entertainment and a bar and food. They are really good fun,” said Frazer.

The next event is coming up at Newcastle Cricket Club, Jesmond tonight, from 6 to 9pm.

And there is a further cosy craft fair, at Heworth Golf Club, Gateshead, on February 28 from 6 to 9pm.

Keep up with Clare and sign up on www.facebook.com/gladragscrafts or contact her at cosycraftfairs@hotmail.co.uk.
