A Northumberland hotel has strengthened its management team with the appointment of a new operations manager.
Matfen Hall Hotel and Spa, near Hexham, has recruited Paul Walker who joins from Rockcliffe Hall, Country Durham, where he spent three years as food and beverage manager, having previously held senior management positions at hotels across North Yorkshire.
In his new role at Matfen Hall, the privately owned ancestral home of Sir Hugh and Lady Blackett, Walker will be tasked with maintaining and raising standards across all areas of the 300-acre, 53-bed hotel, which also has a 27 hole golf course and spa and leisure club with.
He said: “Matfen Hall has a superb reputation within the hotel industry. It’s a superb example of what a family owned hotel should be and every single person I’ve met is justifiably proud to work there.”
