North East PR company M.A.D Communications has won the prestigious Blueprint Young Business Award 2014.

The Blueprint Business Planning event is an annual business competition that showcases the enterprising talent of students and graduates from the university and Sunderland-based M.A.D took the One-to-Watch category in the awards last year.

They added the Young Business Award to their trophy cabinet following the awards at the National Glass Centre.

Founded by Marie Donnelly and Amy Armstrong, the agency specialises in creating campaigns for creative organisations as well as those who are looking to communicate with younger audiences.

Donnelly, 25, of Gateshead, said: “To win a Blueprint award again is incredible and demonstrates just how much we’ve progressed over the past 12 months, we’re both thrilled to have been recognised by the judges once again.

“It was an honour just to be shortlisted.”
